What to See & Do
The campsite is situated on Mowsley Road midway between the villages of Saddington and Mowsley. Mowsley about 1/2 mile away offers a restaurant/pub and a riding stable. Saddington about 1/2 mile away offers a pub/restaurant at the Queens Head. Approximately 3 miles away in the village of Fleckney there is a chemist, a post office, an award winning fish and chip shop and a
Co-Op (cash machine inside), there is also a fabulous curry house who deliver to the site.
Foxton Locks Inn
FOXTON LOCKS is about 3 miles away and is well worth a visit. A unique canal landmark which has been an important boating centre for 200 years. It has an ascending staircase of 10 locks for narrow boats to pass through.
National Space Centre
The National Space Centre is within striking distance. It welcomes around 1/4 million visitors a year. It was the idea of the University of Leicester and won a joint bid to the Millennium Commission as a Landmark Millenium Project for the East Midlands.
Bruntingthorpe is approximately 4 miles away from the campsite and has a significant aviation heritage having been initially constructed in 1942 for use by the heavy bombers of World War II.
